SINGING JUNE 12th & 13th 2015

We hope that you are making plans to be with us for the June session of the 2015 Diana Singing. We are hoping the weather will be cooperating by June and it will be pleasant at the Singing. We will be working hard to have everything ready when you arrive. Don’t forget that the Singing is the second Friday and Saturday nights in June and September and that makes it a little later this year. We nearly always have some that get the dates mixed up and show up the wrong weekend.

We heard that someone was complaining to the Rescue Squad about the way they were parking the cars. Please remember, these are mostly young men, and not professional parking people, and doing the best that they can. Let’s treat them like Christian’s should.
.
We have motel and restaurant information available on our web page at www.dianasinging.com , or you can call me at 931-363-3204, cell 931-309-7602

The Diana Church of Christ always has a Gospel meeting the week of the Singing.
Bro. Robert Hatfield will be speaking this year. Robert is now working with a church in Charleston South Carolina. The meeting will be Sunday June 7th through Thursday June 11th at 7:00 nightly and I know you will enjoy his lessons. Come and be with us if you can. We plan to have the benches cleaned by Friday morning June 5th and you can put your blankets out anytime after that. We will be cleaning the benches with a pressure washer so please do not put your blankets out before that or they may be wet. Also please remember that you can only reserve 10 seats in the front half of the singing shed.

“FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHT LAST HOUR SINGING & RECORDING”
The “Last Hour” singing and recording using “The Songs of Faith and Praise” song book has been a great success and we plan to continue this. We will be using a good mix of some newer songs written in the last 30 years as well as many of the older songs with some great song leaders. The “Last Hour” recording, as well as the rest of the singing will be available on C/Ds at the Tape Shed with all proceeds going to the singing.

I am sorry for the inconvenience but we will not be mailing out any News Letters for this singing. I have had a “computer malfunction” and some back problems and have not been thinking as well as I should. So, if you know someone that usually gets this by mail please pass it on to them so they will know what is going on.

Please drive safely as you are on the way to the Singing.
While you are at the Singing, please visit The Ham Shed, The Gift Shop, and The Tape Shed, with all proceeds going to keeping the Diana Singing going. C/Ds of the Singing will be available at the Tape Shed or can be mailed to you after the Singing. Also visit the Song Book Museum and see a collection of old and rare songbooks and visit the Hall of Fame with pictures of those who have helped the Singing over the years.
NOW FOR THE CAMPERS
I plan to have the campground ready to turn on water and electricity by Friday May 22nd. Several of us will be camping and working over the Memorial Day weekend and we would love for you to come and camp and help with the work if you can. Most of us are getting older and are not able to do as much as we used to, so we could use some extra help getting things ready. I hope several of you are planning to come early for the meeting at the Diana Church. The meeting will be Sunday through Thursday before the Singing on Friday night. Lawrence Taylor is in charge of helping you find a space to set up. The camping spaces are marked off so we ask that you please cooperate with him. As always there is no charge for camping but if you would like to make a donation to help offset the cost of water and electricity that would be great. The water and electricity usually run $1,600 to $1,800 for each singing.

Those with big motor homes Please fill up the back row that is all 50 Amp. sites first.

If you bring dogs or cats Please clean up after them, either in the campground or the parking lot. People are walking around and we have enough “stuff” from the neighborhood dogs without adding any more. The Board of Directors also asks that you please keep your dogs on a leash.

The ladies that run the Gift Shop say that they are very low on all items in the Gift Shop. They need jewelry, puzzles, napkins, place mats, pillow cases, baking utensils, collectibles, toys, small stuffed animals, scarves, glass ware, hand sewn items, pictures, or any small craft item.
Please, no shoes, clothing, or paperback books. Please bring whatever you can.
