It is almost time for the September Diana Singing!  There is a lot of excitement for this coming September singing.   The emails, the phone calls, the text messages it is adding up to be a great Singing. Be making your plans now… get your camper ready, reserve your hotel room(s), and tell your friends!   We have information on our web site (www.dianasinging.com) for hotels and restaurants in the area.

While you are here for the singing, please visit the Hall of Fame, the Song Book Museum, the Gift Shop and the Ham Shed.  The proceeds from all these venues go directly to the operation of the Singing. So please come early and eat, laugh, buy, visit, spend and eat some more before and while you sing.

There are many exciting things that are and have been happening with The Diana Singing!

As many of you know as was announced in June, we have order new song books because the old one has just worn out after being used at the sing for between 30-35 years and most were donated when we got them and had some age on them when we got them.

GOOD NEWS the new book will be here last of July, and we will be using the new books at the September Singing. The name of the book is: Songs For Worship and Praise, published by Robert J. Taylor.

This new book has old songs that we are used to singing at Diana, as well as some of the newer songs. Looking forward to breaking in this new book.

NEED YOUR HELP

We will have the seats cleaned by September 1st so please wait until September 2nd to mark your seats. It Make cleaning the seats much easier if they do not ropes and blankets on them or mark them in any way.THANKS FOR YOUR HELP ON THIS. Cleaning in the Singing Shed will be in progress until September 2nd. We also ask that you do not save more than 10 seats on the first 6 rows from middle and sides.

PLEASE:  We want to keep our records up to date.  If you have moved or changed any of your information, please send us a note to let us know at rajrolltide@gmail.com

THIS PART FOR THE CAMPERS

We are planning to have the campground opened by August 25, but a few of us will be there a little early to open-up water and bath houses.

Everything that we would usually do before a singing will still need to be done; cutting the grass, Ham Shed emptied and cleaned thoroughly, bathrooms will need to be cleaned up good, Hall of Fame and Songbook Museum will need cleaning top to bottom too.  Ladies who usually clean up in the Gift Shop, your help will still be needed.

Lawrence Taylor will be available to help you with parking your camper and spaces will be marked as usual. Please use the back row for the 50-amp campers only.  Camp lots are on a first-come first-served basis and there will be no charge for camping.  However, your donations to help with the cost of water and electricity would be appreciated as these usually run about $2,000 for each singing.

We depend on the campers to help with the work going on during the weeks before the singing.  If you see work going on, ask what you can do to help.

We always need volunteers to help in the Ham Shed and the Gift Shop on Friday and Saturday nights  September 8-9.  There will be “sign-up sheets” at the Ham Shed the week before Singing.

On the marker board at Ham Shed there will be a “TO DO LIST” for each day.  Check it out every day for changes.

Several of us gather at Ham Shed early each morning for coffee, you are always welcome to join us.

PLEASE remember that we only pick at those we love, so be ready!!
