THE  DIANA SINGING NEWSLETTER
THE  50th Anniversary
JUNE 14TH & 15TH 2019

Time is fast approaching for the 50th Anniversary of the Diana Singing. We hope that you have marked your calendar for this great Singing and are planning to be here.  We have made extra plans for the June Singing to celebrate our 50th year. We are expecting a larger than normal crowd and have made arrangements for some extra parking about a hundred yards behind the Diana Church building. You will be able to unload in front of the Singing Shed as usual, and we will have golf carts to bring the driver back to the Singing Shed.  We will have a team available to help you park. We also encourage you to bring your yard chairs with you this year.

We have motel and restaurant information available on our web page at www.dianasinging.com , or you can call me at   931-363-3204, cell 931-309-7602

The Church at Diana always has their meeting the week before the Singing which will be Sunday June 9th thru Wednesday night the 12th.  Bro. Brandon Britton will be holding the Meeting this year and I will be leading the Singing.  Brother Britton is now working with the Lake City Church in Florida and is an outstanding young preacher.  I know he will, to use his expression, “Put a Handle “on his lessons and give you something that you can take with you and use in your everyday Christian life.

We plan to have all the benches cleaned by Friday morning June 7th.   We will be cleaning with a pressure washer so please do not put your blankets out before that or they may be wet. Also please remember that we ask you to reserve no more than 10 seats in the front half of the singing shed.

We will be making audio and video recordings of the Singing and they will be available at the Tape Shed.  The money from the sale of these recordings are used to keep the Singing going so please pick up some before you leave. The CDs are $10 dollars each and the DVDs are $25.

If you are receiving this by “snail mail” and have a computer, please give me your e-mail address.  Also if you have a change of address or phone number please let me know.

50th Anniversary Tee shirts available at the Gift Shop

Bench and Banner available for picture making beside Singing Shed

While you are at the Singing, please visit The Ham Shed, The Gift Shop, and The Tape Shed with all proceeds going to keeping the Diana Singing going. CDs of the Singing will be available at the Tape Shed or can be mailed to you after the Singing. Also we encourage you to visit the Song Book Museum and see a collection of old and rare songbooks and visit the Hall of Fame with pictures of those who have helped the Singing over the years.

NOW   FOR   THE   CAMPERS
Gospel Meeting at the Diana Church, Brandon Britton speaking.                                                                                  Sunday, June 9th thru Wednesday, June 12th.

We plan to have the campground ready to turn the water and electricity on Friday May 24th.  There are several things that we are hoping to do this year before the Singing, We would like to get everything extra clean and several things could use a new coat of paint.  There is always grass to cut and benches to clean and the Ham Shed will need to be cleaned and restocked.

There is no charge for camping but if you would like to make a donation to help offset the cost of water and electricity that would be great. The water and electricity usually run $1,800 to $2,000 for each singing. The campground is “First come, First Serve” and we are looking for an overflow crowd so when it gets full, it’s full. We hope we can park everyone but that may not be possible.

For this year Lawrence Taylor has been named “Campground Host” and in order to use all the space we have, we ask that you let Lawrence Taylor help you park.

Weather permitting –  Friday Morning  June 7th, The Blue Angels will be going from Pensacola to Smyrna and will do a “Fly Over” with smoke at 1000 feet some time that Friday morning.

On Wednesday June 12 at 11:00 the US Army Paratroopers, The Golden Knights will also be dropping in at the Diana camp ground. On Thursday June 13 there is going to be something special for the kids.

If you bring dogs or cats   Please clean up after them, keep them on a leash, and please do not bring them to the meals.  Some people don’t like dogs and cats like you do.

The ladies that run the Gift Shop are doing a great job and could use your help getting set up. Any “Yard Sale Item:” you would like to donate would be fine. They went to a different pricing last fall and it worked great. “Thank You Ladies” for your hard work.
