Where has the summer gone? Can you believe it is almost time for the September Diana Singing. September 11-12 will be the next Diana Singing. Hope you are planning to be there. The weather in June was not the best for the crowds. The numbers were off a little bit, but we still had a great singing. Please plan on being there September 11-12.

If you live close enough to come and help clean up and get ready there is always a lot of cleaning that needs to be done for the September singing, we are planning on cleaning the pews in the morning of September 5th. We will start about 8:30am. We had a great turnout in June, only took about 2 1/2 hours to complete. Please give us plenty of time to complete the cleaning before you come and mark your seats. If you can help at any time, we will be cleaning other things like bathroom, ham shed, hall of fame and song book museum. For more info contact Randy at Randy@dianasinging.com

For those that have never been to the singing, there is what we call a Ham Shed. We serve hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks, coffee, water, chips, candy, popcorn AND OF COURSE OUR FAMOUS COUNTRY HAM SANDWICHES AND FRIED PIES. We also have a Song Book Museum that has books dating back to the early 1800’s. We have a Hall of Fame that tells of people that have played a big part in singings over the years. Also, a Gift Shop where you can take home something to remember what a great time you had at the singing. There are tee shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, and all kinds of knick-knacks. We do accept cash and credit or debit cards in Gift Shop and Ham Shed

If you are a camper, we also have a campground that will officially open August 21st. There will be a few of us there a week or so earlier getting the campground ready. If you want to come earlier, come on. We have 30 and 50 amp plugs and water, no sewer hookup. But we do have a dump station and a honey wagon, if you need to dump during your stay. We do not charge for camping, but keep in mind we do have utilities to pay for, so donations are welcomed.

Now for those of you that will be camping.

The work force that normally comes early is getting a little older and not able to help like they once did. We need some more campers that can come a couple of weeks early and help get everything ready. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy and you’d like to help to continue this wonderful singing tradition, please join us.

Starting the week of the singing on Sunday September 6th, we will have church services at the old Diana church building. Paul Morgan will be teaching class at 10:00am and Drake Chittam will be speaking during services at 11:00am and Jonathan Wright will be speaking at 5:00pm Services. Wednesday the 9th Larry Murdock will be with us for class at 5:00pm. We will also have services on September 13th, but we sing during class time at 10am and services at 11:00 Jeff Jenkins will be speaking, Casey Rogers will be speaking at 5:00pm services for everyone that is still there.

Monday – Thursday, September 7-10 we have lunch under the ham shed. Here is the menu.

Monday – We will have a baked potato bar. The singing will furnish the potatoes; campers will need to furnish toppings.

Tuesday – BBQ furnished by the singing. Campers need to furnish sides

Wednesday – Sandwich and Salad Day Campers bring your favorite sandwich fixings and your favorite salad.

Thursday- 3:00 Ice Cream bring your freezer and favorite flavor. Diana will furnish Ice! We have extra freezers if you need one

Thursday Night 7:00 Bonfire and storytelling.

Friday- we will be in wide open speed getting ready for the singing, if you see people working, please pitch in and help, it will be appreciated.

On Thursday we will be getting a delivery from Palmer. And on Friday ham and pies will be delivered. If you see them come in, we could use some help.
